# How to Connect Several Mailboxes in One Noiz Mail Connection

One Noiz Mail connection can hold every mailbox you know the password for, such as all your staff's mailboxes, so an owner or office manager can work across the whole team's mail from one AI app. This guide shows how to connect the list at sign-in, how to ask about one mailbox or all of them, and how to change the list later on the manage page.

**Last reviewed:** 4 November 2026, against the live Noiz Mail connector.

## Prerequisites

- The address and password of every mailbox you want to connect. All must be hosted by Noiz or on a client mail server we manage.
- The right to read them. Only connect mailboxes you are entitled to read, and tell your staff in writing that their mail can be read through your AI app.
- An AI app ready to add the connector: [Claude](/noiz-mail/how-to-connect-noiz-mail-to-claude/), [ChatGPT](/noiz-mail/how-to-connect-noiz-mail-to-chatgpt/), [Grok](/noiz-mail/how-to-connect-noiz-mail-to-grok/) or [Codex](/noiz-mail/how-to-connect-noiz-mail-to-codex/).

## Connecting the List at Sign-In

Put every mailbox you want in the first sign-in. Signing in again later from your AI app makes a second, separate connection with only the list you paste then; it does not add to the first. To change the list later, use the manage page below.

1. Start the connection in your AI app as the setup guide describes. The Noiz page **Connect your mailbox** opens.
2. Paste the whole list into the **Several mailboxes** box, one mailbox per line: the address, a space, then that mailbox's password. A tab works as the separator too, so you can copy an address column and a password column from a spreadsheet and paste them in.
3. Leave the email address and password fields above the box empty if you like; the first line is then your main mailbox. Or fill them in, and the list is added to that mailbox.
4. Click **Connect**. Every password is checked against the mail server before anything is connected, which can take a minute for many mailboxes.
5. The page says how many mailboxes are connected, for example "87 mailboxes connected", and returns you to your AI app.

```text
sales@yourcompany.co.za Sales-password
accounts@yourcompany.co.za Accounts-password
```

Blank lines are ignored, and so is a mailbox listed twice with the same password. If a line has a problem, nothing is connected and the page names the line, for example "Line 12 (accounts@yourcompany.co.za): address or password incorrect." The list is cleared because it holds passwords, so fix that line and paste the whole list again. If the number connected is lower than you expected, start the connection again in your AI app and paste the full list.

There is no limit on how many mailboxes one connection may hold.

## Asking About One Mailbox or All of Them

Every tool takes a mailbox, and the first one connected is the default. Name the mailbox when you want another one: "in accounts@, find the Acme quote". Ask about all of them with words like "search all our mailboxes for the Acme quote"; the AI then searches every mailbox in the connection at once and tells you which rows came from where. Mail you send goes out from the mailbox you are working in, never from another one. How the all-mailboxes search behaves, and its limits, is in [Limits and Behaviour](/noiz-mail/noiz-mail-limits-and-behaviour/).

## Changing the List Later: the Manage Page

You do not need to reconnect your AI app. Go to [https://mcp.noiz.co.za/mail/manage](https://mcp.noiz.co.za/mail/manage) and sign in with your main mailbox, the first mailbox you connected. The page lists every mailbox in your connection and marks any whose password was rejected.

- **Add mailboxes:** paste them into the box under the list, one per line (the address, a space, then the password), and click **Check and save**. Each is checked on its mail server first; nothing is saved unless every line passes.
- **A staff password changed:** paste that mailbox's line with the new password into the same box and click **Check and save**.
- **Remove a mailbox:** click **Remove** next to it. The main mailbox cannot be removed.
- **Stop using the connector:** click **Disconnect**, then remove the connector in your AI app.

Changes apply straight away. Your AI app uses the new list on its next request.

## When a Staff Member Changes Their Password

The other mailboxes keep working. When the AI next tries that mailbox on its own, Noiz Mail tells it the mailbox could not be opened; in an all-mailboxes search it is listed under errors and the rest are still returned. Enter the new password on the manage page and it works again. Changing the main mailbox's password ends the whole connection on its next use, and you sign in again from your AI app.

## Troubleshooting

- **Symptom: "Line 12 (name@example.com): this mailbox is already listed with another password."** The same mailbox is in the list twice with different passwords. Remove the wrong line and paste the whole list again.
- **Symptom: "Too many failed sign-ins for name@example.com (line 12)."** That mailbox has had too many wrong passwords recently. Wait 15 minutes, or leave that line out and add the mailbox later on the manage page.
- **Symptom: the sign-in page took a long time and then connected fewer mailboxes than pasted.** Checking stops after 60 seconds plus 2 seconds per mailbox on the form. Add the remaining mailboxes on the manage page.

Every message the sign-in and manage pages can show is explained in [Noiz Mail Troubleshooting](/noiz-mail/noiz-mail-troubleshooting/).
