How to Set Up a Recurring Payment with Stripe

This guide shows you how to set up an automatic recurring card payment for your Noiz invoices through Stripe, so your hosting renews each period without you having to pay every invoice by hand. It is for clients who want their billing to run itself.

How recurring card payment works with Noiz

When you pay an invoice by card and choose to save the card, the card is stored securely with Stripe, not on Noiz servers. From then on, when a new invoice is issued for a service covered by a saved card or a subscription, Stripe charges the card automatically on the due date. You get the invoice and the receipt by email as usual; the only difference is you do not have to log in to pay.

Set it up

1. Log in to the Console.
2. Open the unpaid invoice you want to pay (see How to View and Pay an Invoice).
3. Choose Stripe (credit or debit card) as the payment method.
4. Enter your card details and tick the option to save the card or use this card for future payments, then complete the payment.

The card is now associated with your account. Future invoices for that service are charged to it automatically when they fall due.

Change or remove a saved card

• Change: pay your next invoice with the new card and save it the same way; the new card becomes the one used for future charges. If you want the old card removed first, ask Noiz support to detach it.
• Remove: if you would rather go back to paying each invoice by hand, contact Noiz support and they will remove the saved card so nothing is charged automatically.

If a recurring payment fails

If a card is declined on the due date (expired card, insufficient funds, bank block), the invoice stays unpaid and the service is not renewed until it is settled. You will get the usual overdue reminders. Pay the outstanding invoice manually, and update the saved card so the next automatic charge succeeds. A service left unpaid can be suspended, so act on a failed-payment notice promptly.

Notes

• Your card details are handled by Stripe under its security and PCI compliance; Noiz never sees or stores the full card number.
• You can have different payment methods for different services; a saved card only covers the invoices you set it up on.
