How to Connect Noiz Mail to ChatGPT
This guide adds Noiz Mail to ChatGPT so it can work with your Noiz mailbox. ChatGPT adds custom MCP servers as plugins, on the ChatGPT website, and uses them in a chat when you mention them by name.
Last reviewed: 4 November 2026, against the current ChatGPT release and the live Noiz Mail connector. OpenAI changes plan rules and menu names from time to time; where its page differs from this guide, its page is right.
Official Documentation Reference
Section titled “Official Documentation Reference”- MCP servers and connectors (OpenAI developer documentation): what a custom MCP server is and OpenAI’s warning about them.
- Connected apps in ChatGPT (OpenAI): how connectors behave in a chat.
Prerequisites
Section titled “Prerequisites”- A Noiz mailbox and its password. Several mailboxes? See How to Connect Several Mailboxes in One Noiz Mail Connection first, because the list is pasted during the first sign-in.
- A ChatGPT Business, Enterprise or Edu account. On other plans, check whether yours offers custom MCP servers. In a workspace, the admin may need to allow it first (see Troubleshooting).
Adding the Connector
Section titled “Adding the Connector”- Go to chatgpt.com/plugins in a web browser.
- Click +, then Add custom MCP server.
- Enter the address
https://mcp.noiz.co.za/mail. If asked for a name, use Noiz Mail. - The Noiz page Connect your mailbox opens. Enter your mailbox address and password and click Connect.
- ChatGPT shows its standard warning about custom servers. Accept it, then click Create as a plugin and install the plugin.
Using It in a Chat
Section titled “Using It in a Chat”Type @Noiz Mail followed by what you want: “@Noiz Mail summarise what came in from Acme this week”. ChatGPT uses the connector only for that message, so mention it again when a follow-up needs it to look something up or act. When you ask it to send, it shows you the message and asks you to approve it before anything goes out. Every tool it can use is in the tools reference.
Disconnecting
Section titled “Disconnecting”In Settings, then Plugins, open Noiz Mail and choose Disconnect. All the ways to end a connection are in How to Disconnect or Remove Noiz Mail.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”- Symptom: “Add custom MCP server” is missing in a workspace. Ask your workspace admin. The setting is under Workspace settings, then Permissions & roles, with the permission Create plugins with MCPs.
- Symptom: “Address or password incorrect.” Use your full email address and your mail password. After five wrong attempts, sign-in pauses for up to 15 minutes.
Every message the sign-in page can show is explained in Noiz Mail Troubleshooting.
