How to Connect Noiz Mail to Claude
This guide adds Noiz Mail to Claude so it can work with your Noiz mailbox. It covers claude.ai and the desktop app, Team and Enterprise organisations, Claude Code, and how to check the connector is on in a chat. Set-up takes about two minutes.
Last reviewed: 4 November 2026, against the current Claude apps and the live Noiz Mail connector. Anthropic changes menu names and plan rules from time to time; where its page differs from this guide, its page is right.
Official Documentation Reference
Section titled “Official Documentation Reference”- Get started with custom connectors using remote MCP (Anthropic): plan rules, limits and the organisation route.
- Connect Claude Code to tools via MCP (Anthropic): the
claude mcp addcommand and/mcp.
Prerequisites
Section titled “Prerequisites”- A Noiz mailbox and its password. Several mailboxes? See How to Connect Several Mailboxes in One Noiz Mail Connection before you sign in, because the list is pasted during the first sign-in.
- A Claude account. Every plan can add custom connectors; the Free plan allows one.
Claude on the Web or the Desktop App (Free, Pro or Max)
Section titled “Claude on the Web or the Desktop App (Free, Pro or Max)”- On claude.ai or in the Claude desktop app, open Customize, then Connectors.
- Click + Add, then Add custom connector.
- Enter the name Noiz Mail and the address
https://mcp.noiz.co.za/mail. - Keep the suggested sign-in settings, Sign in now and Use Claude’s published identity, and click Add.
- The Noiz page Connect your mailbox opens. Enter your mailbox address and password and click Connect.
- The page confirms the connection and returns you to Claude.
Once connected on the web or desktop, the connector also works in the Claude mobile app on the same account.
Claude Team or Enterprise
Section titled “Claude Team or Enterprise”An organisation Owner adds the connector once; each person then connects their own mailbox.
- Owner: open Organization settings, then Connectors, click Add, choose Custom, then Web, and enter the name Noiz Mail and the address
https://mcp.noiz.co.za/mail. - Each person: open Customize, then Connectors, find Noiz Mail and click Connect. Sign in on the Noiz page with your own mailbox address and password.
Each person’s connection holds only the mailboxes they signed in with. Nobody else in the organisation can read them.
Claude Code
Section titled “Claude Code”Run this in a terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http mail https://mcp.noiz.co.za/mailThen start Claude Code, type /mcp, choose mail and sign in on the page that opens. The connection is saved for that user on that computer.
Using It in a Chat
Section titled “Using It in a Chat”In a chat, click +, choose Connectors and check that Noiz Mail is on. Then ask in plain words: “Summarise what came in from Acme this week”, or “Draft a reply to Jane saying we’ll deliver on Friday”. When you ask Claude to send, it shows you the message and asks you to approve it before anything goes out. More examples and every tool it can use are in the tools reference.
Disconnecting
Section titled “Disconnecting”- Claude: in Customize, then Connectors, open Noiz Mail and click Disconnect to sign out. To delete the connector, choose Remove from its three-dot menu. On Team or Enterprise only an Owner can remove it, from Organization settings, then Connectors.
- Claude Code: run
claude mcp remove mail.
All the ways to end a connection are in How to Disconnect or Remove Noiz Mail.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”- Symptom: Claude cannot finish connecting, or loops back to the sign-in page. Remove Noiz Mail and add it again, choosing Register automatically for the OAuth client. On Team or Enterprise, ask your Owner to do this in Organization settings, then Connectors; everyone then connects again.
- Symptom: “Address or password incorrect.” Use your full email address and your mail password, not your Noiz client area password. After five wrong attempts, sign-in pauses for up to 15 minutes.
- Symptom: a Reconnect button appears later. A password changed, or the connection has not been used for a while. Click Reconnect and sign in again.
Every message the sign-in page can show is explained in Noiz Mail Troubleshooting.
